Ms Ye holds a law degree from the Muenster University, Germany. Since 2009, Ms Ye has been working as GIZ Advisor to local NGO, Cambodian Defenders Project, on a program on sexual and gender-based violence during the Khmer Rouge regime.
Since 2012, Ms Ye has been admitted as a lawyer at the German Bar Association and at the Bar Association in the Kingdom of Cambodia. Together with Cambodian Attorney-at-Law, Ms Sin Soworn, Ms Ye co-represents 95 Civil Parties before the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia who suffered forced marriage and other types of sexual violence. Prior to 2012, these victims of gender-based violence were represented by Counsel for Civil Parties, Ms Silke Studzinsky with Ms Sin Soworn.
